AUTOMOTIVE ELECTRONICS CONFERENCE (AEC) 2011
India, the well known hub for global manufacturing in the automotive segment is also emerging as the most prominent destination in the research & development area. Through its excellent talent pool in the R&D domain, the Indian automotive industry has a great potential to grow and compete with the global market.
With the importance of electronics implementation in the automotive vehicles; it is essential to incorporate electro-mechanical , electro-hydraulic penetration for better performance and superior results. The Indian automotive electronics market is one of the most rapidly growing markets in the world today, and one of the fastest growing sub-sectors within the Indian automobile sector. The current size of the Indian automotive electronics market is estimated at approximately $2 billion. With electronics content growth in Indian automobiles expected to rise to 20 percent from the current 10 percent, industry sources estimate the market for automotive electronics to grow to approximately $3 to 4.5 billion by 2011*. At the same time, the Indian government has potential plans to improve and establish India as the global automotive R&D hub. The Indian R&D professionals are taking the future steps of implementing electronic-enabled vehicles, however, there are critical areas and challenges; technical, technological & governmental in the India automotive electronics R&D domain needs serious attention.
Advancing technologies integrating seamlessly together and ever increasing customer expectations have brought together automotive and electronics industries like never before. The introduction of electronics from engine management systems to sensors to infotainment to telematics enables the auto makers to create products which are Green, Safe and Intelligent. The opportunities for both automotive and electronics industries are immense as these demand a very high level of collaboration sometimes even from conceptualisation phase.
AEC 2011, is a gathering of researchers of automotive electronics from Government, Defense, Academia and Industry to understand the challenges and critical areas in automotive electronics. The two-day research conference is on some of the most important elements of the Indian automotive electronics industry along with various challenges and their mitigation. The two days will be comprised of: know more on the government initiatives and perspective towards the Indian automotive electronics R&D, the technical challenges and how to resolve them along with best practices, and the best technologies to accelerate R&D.
